Zenobia

There is a moment in every diver's journey when the reef floor drops away and the blue turns to black, and you realise the sport you fell in love with has a whole other dimension waiting beneath it. For some, that moment happens on a wreck. For me, it happened on the Zenobia. That is part of why I do what I do. As a PADI Course Director in Cyprus, my role is to help good divers become great instructors — but at Alpha Divers, we have built something a little different: a place where instructor training does not stop at the surface, and where the people teaching you have genuinely been where you are headed.

Becoming a PADI Instructor in Cyprus: Training at Every Level

I am proud to run our PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) and instructor-level courses as a Silver-level Course Director, having guided 20 successful IDCs to completion. What sets our program apart, however, is the depth of experience behind it. As a PADI Tec 50 TMX Instructor Trainer and a full PADI Tec Instructor qualified to full trimix at 100m, I teach the entire pathway — from a candidate's very first Open Water Instructor course through to the technical and rebreather specialties that push the edges of the sport. That matters, because a good instructor trainer should be able to show you where the road leads, not just where it starts. If you're weighing up the investment, our PADI instructor costs breakdown lays out exactly what to expect.

A Home for Technical Divers in Larnaca

Alpha Divers is proud to be Cyprus's premier PADI Career Development Centre for TEC REC training. As one of the island's founding dive companies, we bring 20 years of experience to everything we do — experience that shows up in the details that matter most: safety, standards, and client service that is unrivalled on the island. That legacy begins with our founder, Chris Martin, a PADI Master Instructor with a pedigree that speaks for itself. Chris dived the Zenobia alongside the legendary Cousteau family, and to this day remains the person everyone on the island turns to for the real story behind a wreck, a technique, or a piece of diving history. That is the standard on which the whole team is built. We have built the centre around the needs of serious technical and rebreather divers:XDEEP gear as standard — kit that technical instructors and their students can trust, every time.Premier gas blending facilities — because trimix training demands precision, not compromise.CCR-friendly setup, including 2/3L tanks for rebreather divers who need the right cylinders for the job, and sorb supplied on site so you are never left scrambling for scrubber material before a dive.It is an environment built by technical divers, for technical divers — and for the instructors who will go on to teach the next generation of them. The Zenobia Wreck Dive Cyprus: Guided 60 and 90-Minute Dives

No conversation about diving in Cyprus is complete without the Zenobia. She is one of the world's great wreck dives, and our guided dives on her are one of the true highlights of what we offer. I personally lead technical divers through the wreck on 60 and 90-minute dives, each shaped for a different kind of experience.The 60-minute dive offers a focused, efficient tour of the Zenobia's most iconic features — ideal for divers who want to see the very best of the wreck without stretching gas or bottom time. The 90-minute dive is the fuller experience: time to linger in the holds, explore her deeper sections, and take her in at a more considered pace. Both dives are guided personally, drawing on the kind of local knowledge that only comes from diving this wreck hundreds of times. There is something special about watching a diver's focus sharpen as the wreck comes into view out of the blue, knowing that the training and preparation behind them is what allows them to explore her safely and thoroughly, for however long the dive calls for. Whether you are a diver hoping to go deeper, or a divemaster ready to take the leap into becoming a scuba diving instructor, the Zenobia has a way of reminding all of us why we do this — and our guided 60 and 90-minute dives are one of the best ways to experience her.
